Silhouettes - Cards Galore Challenge- November

Hi all and welcome to my crafty blog.

my post today is my DT card for the Cards Galore Challenge Blog   that is starting today for the month of November. The theme this month is Silhouettes and the lucky winner will receive a 'Mystery Prize'!

My DT piece is a hybrid card, using both digital and paper elements. The silhouette is a cut-out made of yours truly a long, long time ago. I came across it , typicially, whilst  looking for something else and I decided to use for this months theme.  The problem was that the paper was very thin and a bit fragile. I solved this problem by scanning the silhouette into my PC and using  photoshop software I created the digital silhouette. I made two oval frames from complimentary coloured digital papers and 'placed' the scanned image onto the frames. I then added a rectangle of another contrasting digital paper to help pop the image.  The card base is some light brown cardstock matted with a blue paper with a fine polka dot pattern and a blue organza bow. The silhouette was then mounted onto the base using demensional adhesive. A white embossed corner flourish and three small flowers made from the same paper, decorated with pearls complete the card.

I am finding that I like using the combination of digital and traditional methods in my crafting. This allows me to use my computer, photoshop, my Cricut and my imagination ... and that can't be bad!

We had a bumper response to our 'Anything Goes' challenge. The entries counted 266!!!! Unbelievable! And we were so pleased to have reached a new audience and gained some new friends for the Cards Galore Blog. Thank you all for your support.
