Wedding Day Card

Hi all and welcome to my crafty blog.

This is my second post for today and I want to share this card I made for a wedding. The only condition was the card had to have something purple on it. I've had the backing paper for a while now, I'm a bit of a  crafty magpie, and I was just waiting for the right project to use it.

I have also entered this into the Craftymessers Facebook Daily Challenge for today, which is a call to just make something, on any theme, any size and just show it. My kind of challenge.

My card-base is a piece of  A4 white pearlesence card folded into an A5 card. The backing paper has been cut to 1cm smaller than the card-base and wrapped with a purple organza ribbon tied in a bow and adhered to the card-base. The two hearts were die cut from pre-embossed paper using a Tim Holtz Primitive Hearts die and the edges rubbed with a purple ink. The hearts were adhered together using dimensional adhesive and tied with a small gold lace ribbon. I made the flower from some tissue paper that came with a gift and and layered the rough cut circles of paper until they resembled a flower. I finished the card with two 'sort-of' hat-pins with pearl hearts and gold and pearl beads.

Craftymessers - Non-traditional Christmas Card

Hello and welcome to my crafty blog.

Today my post is my DT card for the Craftymessers Challenge Blog. The theme, chosen by teamie Shirly-Anne,  is for a card using non-traditional colours and/or images to create a Christmas Card. Our sponsors this time is Meiflower and Crimson cloud with some great prizes for the winner of the challenge. The challenge starts today and runs for a forthnight.

Meiflower
They are offering a £10.00 Voucher to spend in their store for the winner !! Whoop Whoop !!

AND

Crimson Cloud
Crimson Cloud are sponsoring us on this one, they have done a guest design spot the prize is 3 die cuts for the winner, their choice.

I'm a big fan of the Non-Trad Christmas card  and I have been known to use bright pinks and greens and even black in previous Christmas Cards. This time my card was made using a Navy coloured card-base with a strip of lime green card, torn to create rough edges.  A piece of bright pink ribbon was stamped with snowflakes and adhered to the lime green card. Some pink gems were added to the centre of the snowflakes. I stamped some tree outlines and the sentiment with Versamark  and then heat embossed with white embossing powder. I stamped the image on to white card and coloured it using Copics and the finished image was adhered to the card with some dimensional adhesive pads to make it pop.  I like how the colours work and still have a Christmas feel.

The stamped images and sentiment come from the same Polka-Doodles stamp set that was a freebie with a Christmas issue of Papercraft Essentials.

Funky Hand- Let's get Sentimental

Hello and welcome to my crafty blog.

today I am not posting any DT projects just a little card I made to please myself and to enter into the current challenge running over at   Get Funky! The challenge is called 'Let's get Sentimental' and I had this little guy in mind as soon as I saw the Funky Freebie paper.

Thanks for being my friend.

As a dog lover, I couldn't resist this image when it came through the door on some advertising gumph, so I made him into a topper for a card. There are some stripes in the image and they marry up nicely with the free papers and the colours work too in a sort of Jubilee theme ...Red White and Blue.. Well I think so.
Look at that face. This doggie needed no frills to send his message,  just a some embelishments of red polka-dot washi tape and the sentiment, also as part of the April free paper. This little moppet is going to a good home.and I think he's cute. I hope you like him too.

Robyn's Fetish Digital Stamps - Tintin Heart Feature

Hi and welcome to my crafty blog,

Just a little post today to say how mega thrilled I am be the Robyn's Fetish Digital Stamps - 'Cards of the Week' this week.  This came about because I was part of the DT for The Crafty Pad that used some of Robyn's digital stamps for a challenge called  Bounty of Buttons and RFDS chose to feature all of the DT projects for that challenge. The post went live yesterday, 10th May, and Susan Paulson, the Sponsorship coordinator for Robyn's, has given me a really nice write up.

I originally posted this in April but here is another look at the card.

So thanks to  Robyn's Fetish Digital Stamps and Susan Paulson, I am smiling a HUGE smile today.

Desmet Designs - Celebrate in Red, White and Blue

Hello and welcome to my crafty blog.

Today I am thrilled to be posting the Guest DT project for Desmet Designs . Celebration in RED, WHITE and BLUE is the theme and what a lot of great ideas and inspiration from the DT .

I chose the quintessential emblem for England...The Rose.

I decide to make a clean and simple card to make sure the Rose took centre stage. I used my favourite Tombow water-based makers to colour the rose and mounted it onto a scalloped oval from Nellie Snellen. Using demesional adhesive pad I popped the oval onto a rectangle of white card with the corners decorated. A blue organza ribbon was wrapped round the with card and tied in a bow to add a bit of interest. To finish the completed imaged was matted to the front of a Royal Blue cards and the sentiment 'Celebrate' was stamped with a Fiskars stamp on the bottom of the card.

Check out the   Desmet Designs  challenge blog and see the great designs from the DT team.

Thanks again for stopping by to read my blog. I welcome your visits and look forward to your comments.

Craftymessers Challlenge May 6th - Pink and Cute

Hello and welcome to my crafty blog.

Today I am bloggin about my DT card for the new challenge starting at the  Craftymessers Challenge Blog  today.  The theme  chosen by my teamie Gemma is Pink and Cute and the DT team have been given some Sassy Studio Designs digi stamps to use to create the DT projects. Sassy Studio Designs are also our sponsors for this challenge and the winner gets 4 digis from the Sassy Studio range.
Sassy Studio Designs

I chose this image to make my card.

I printed the digi-image onto white card and coloured the 'princess' using my Copics markers. I used a Nellie Snellen scalloped-oval die, taking care to cut the bottom of the dress clear of the die to give the image a frame. Paper from the  DCWV 'The Glittersweet' mattstack was used to matt the cut-out image and it was then adhered to a white cardbase.  To embellish the card front I made a pink flower from some organza ribbon and a pink brad and a deep pink.paper flower from Reyher. A punched out Butterfly in white with a pink gem in the centre completes the card.

Thanks for stopping by to read my blog and don't forget to pop over to Craftymessers Challenge Blog to see the other DT projects and maybe join in too!

Inspired By - Cards Galore Challenge Blog.

Good Morning and welcome to my crafty blog,

today I am posting my DT card for the  Cards Galore   challenge blog starting this month, May.  The theme for May is  'Inspired By', that being anyone who has inspired you to create and craft through their style, techniques and so on. I've chosen Jennifer McGuire.

I love what Jennifer can do with stamps and ink and how the techniques produce surprises everytime.  My other DT colleagues have more great inspiration for you with their homage to their chosen Artist/ Designer including Barbara Grey, Sue Wilson,Shelli Gardner from Stampin'Up, Tim Holtz and Wendy Kadzidlo the Manga artist.  Fabulous stuff to see here so take a peek and check out the projects.

This challenge has also been sponsored by the lovely
where the winner will receive two templates of their choice!!

My card was made using watercolour paper stamped with a background in script in Versamark ink and dusted with white embossing powder. After I heat set the powder I used an acrylic block with 'rainbow' colours in water based inks, spritzed with a litte water to help the inks run together. Using a brayer, I pressed the paper onto the block and allowed the inks to work in to the paper to create the rainbow effect.  I set the inks with my heat tool and then die-cut the star aperture with a Nellie Snellen die. The paper was then cut into strips and re-assembled and adhered onto white card stock. Some green and mauve cardstock was used to matt the stamped image onto a white card base.  The little wooden butterfly was given a rub over with the same inks to tie it into the colour scheme and embellished with pink, green and blue gems.
So I hope I've done the challenge and Jennifer McGuire justice.

Don't forget to pop along to Cards Galore and see what the DT have produced and maybe even join in.
