Birds - Craftymessers Challenge 14

Hi all and welcome to my crafty blog.

today I am posting ( a bit late) my DT card for the current challenge running over at the  Craftymessers Challenge Blog for the next fortnight.

So on to the 14th Challenge on the blog which was chosen by teamie   Moira's and the subject is
Birds.

The DT were given a selection of digi images from our sponsor, who are

Robyn's Fetish Digital Stamps And More is proud to sponsor this challenge.
Robyn's Fetish Digital Stamps And More, a division of I Did It Creations, was created and is
owned by Robyn Weinrib.  Robyn offers a wonderful variety of digital stamps and digital papers, designed to meet the needs of all digital paper crafting addicts for every occasion.
Robyn's Fetish Digital Stamps And More is happy to award the winner her choice of 5 digital stamps.

My card is a standard 5x5 basecard in white with a smaller square of lilac card matted to the front. I coloured my image with watercolours and adhered the finished image to a square of pink card that had been decorated with some lilac organza ribbon and pink check Washi Tape. Some Pink and Green gems and a Pink flower were added as embellishments and some green and pink check backing-paper was added for contrast. The senitment was stamped in Stäz-On black ink and I hand drew the 'notes' with a fine black marker.

White on White - Cards Galore Challenge Blog

Hello all and welcome to my crafty blog.

Today I am posting the DT card I made for the White-on-White challenge now running over at Cards    Galore challenge blog.

This a great exercise in using just white and my research into this highlighted just how crative you can be with one colour.

This is my white-on-white card.

This is white, trust me, and I thought I should photograph it against a colour to show the card better but nnfortunately the lightening wasn't the best for this project.
This card was made with a standard A6 card base with the fold at the top.  I 'debossed' the sentiement 'Happy Birthday' using my Quickutz  Letterpress polymer die.  This is great for a deep impression and I also use the dies with spceial tacky inks for a very professional look.

I embossed  a piece of the same card with a flower motif and cut it into three panels and adhered them to the front of the card. I used EK Success punches to make the flower and a Matha Stewart punch for the butterfly.

Please pop along to the Cards Galore Challange Blog to see the wonderful creations from the DT. The White-onWhite challenge is well worth having a go and there's prizes too!

Some Great news for Scrappers! Cards Galore Scrapbook Challenge Blog!

Hi all and welcome to my crafty blog.

Today I am posting about my  new Design Team spot with the  Cards Galore Scrapbook Challenge Blog which goes live today with the launch of our first blog challenge ' Anything Goes', which for this first challenge is using  paper scrapbooking only.

Our DT team is made up a great group of talented scrapbookers, who use a range of scrapbooking techniques.

Each challenge will start on the 15th of each month and run until the 14th of the following month, with the winner  announced on the 18th.  So you have lots of time the create and submit your entries. The reward for the winner is a prestigious Guest Blogger spot and a badge to be proudly displayed on the winner's blog! So get your scrapbooking hat on and join in.

Here are my two DT projects

I've called this page 'Popcorn Time'.
This little family member seems to be overwhelmed by the sheer amount of popcorn and I could imagine the sigh and hear the thought 'So much popcron, so little time' going through her head. For me this photo was ideal for a scrapbook layout.

Mum and Me.
This is my first ever all digi layout. I am still getting the grips with the digi- scrapbooking process and there are lots of helpful sites out on the web, but ultimately practise will make things a bit more perfect :-)
This photo taken of me and Mum at a party were the table decorations were just begging to be played with shows how much fun we were having. A great memory.

I'm really excited about this new Scrapbooking Challenge blog and can't wait to see what all you wonderful scrapbookers will create for this and future challenges.
You can also find us here at the Cards Galore FB
Cards Galore Scrap Challenge Facebook
or may check out the Cards Galore Challenge Blog    and take part in the current challenge 'white on white' with a prize for the winner.

Have a great day and thanks for stopping by and reading my blog. Your time and comments are appreciated.

Anything Goes - ATC and Card with Attitude

Hi all and welcome to my crafty spot.

Here is my second post for today, an ATC made for the Craftymessers Daily Challenge on Facebook and it fits the 'Anything Goes' criteria for the  ATCs and Cards with Attitude  challenge currently running on their challenge blog.

Surf's Up! is the title.

My ATC was made with a Kraft cardbase with the top covered with a torn piece of Stampin'Up blue paper. The torn edge represents the surf. I stamped two surf boards in paper from Funky Hand and layered them onto the ATC. I stamped a pair of flip-flops from some Paperpmania paper and decorated them with a pink gem on each flop-flop. To finish the card I stamped 'Surf's Up' in the top right-hand corner and rubbed the edges with Versa Colour Royal Blue and Brown ink. All stamps used come from Stamps of Life.

I am fairly new to ATCs and I am still learning, but I am happy with this little beach scene on such a small canvas.

Thanks for stopping by to read my blog. Your time and comments are appreciated.

Sun / Moon - Craftymess Challenge beginning Saturday 14th July

Hi all and welcome to my crafty blog.

Today I am posting my DT card for the new challenge starting today over at the  The Craftymessers Challenge Blog .  The challenge, chosen by our teamie FIONA, runs for a fortnight and the theme is Sun and/or Moon.

We have 2 Sponsors for this challenge, so there will be 2 Winners.... Sandie...is offering a  lovely rubber stamp and decoupage card kit by Micheal Powell.

And

Is offering a voucher for another winner

Crafty-Emblies is a new Company

They offer affordable emblishements and masks in wood and plastic.
Go check them out!

You make each day feel brand new.

I've been wanting to try out Brayer techniques for a while now and inspired by this theme and my teamies, I gave it a go for this challenge.

First thing I noticed was I didn't have enough ink pads and the ones I had were not big enough!  I know, I know, I can hear you say "call yourself a papercrafter"...the shame of it. But this will be rectified soon as more colours and bigger ink pads are part of the next crafty shopping list.  Undaunted by my lack of kit,  I soldiered on with my current stock and got quite messy and inky in the process.. Great FUN!!!!

I started with a piece of plain white smooth cardstock with a punched circle masking the spot where I wanted the sun and started with the lighter colour blue. I loaded the brayer with ink, making sure that I left no gaps on the roller and starting off the paper, began rolling the ink lightly across the card. Working toward the middle, I repeated the process until I got the colour and the blend I wanted. At the opposite end of the card, I started with the darker blue, but this time before I applied the ink to the cardstock, I ran the brayer lighty over a piece of crumpled paper to lift off some of the ink. Then, when I applied the ink to the card it produced a 'ripple' effect on the water.

The background was created with a torn piece of paper masking out a mountain shape and carefully brayered in the ink. I used the piece of paper I'd punched the circle out of to act as a mask for the 'sun', which helped me to stay inside the lines and get a nice misty effect on the sun. To create perspective, I stamped some reeds in black ink in the bottom right hand corner and added three bird outlines with fineliner pen. The finished card was matted onto white and gold cardstock and then adhered to a Kraft cardbase.

Those of you you read my blog already know that I love getting inky and this was my kind of creative fun.

Thank you for stopping by and reading my blog. I hope you enjoyed your visit and don't forget to leave you comment. Your time and comments are appreciate.
