Ribbons and Lace - Craftymessers Challenge Blog

Hello all and welcome to my crafty blog.

Todays post is my DT card for the Ribbons and Lace, chosen by my teamie Sandra at the Craftymessers Challange Blog.

Our sponsor for this challenge is Sassy Design Studio and we had two of these fabulous digi-designs to work with.

This is my card.

My card is made with a standard A6 white card base, covered with plain pink and pink patterned paper. A Tim Holtz die-cut in dark mauve card was used to help pop the image out from the base card. A deep pink satin ribbon and a lace bow decorate the front of the card.  I coloured the image with my trusty Tombow waterbased markers and then cut the image out.  I adhered the image with dimensional adhesive pads and added the sentiment. The quote is from a web-site dedicated to qoutes from famous actresses and this image called from something sassy and mature. My quote from Mae West fits the bill :))

Don't forget to pop along to the Craftymessers Challenge Blog to check out the other DT submissions. All really FAB!

Thanks for stopping by to read my blog and don't go away without leaving your comment. Your time and comments are really appreciated.

ATC - Handpainted Poppy

Hello and welcome to my crafty blog.

Just a quick post today- an ATC- handpainted Poppy. I had my paintes out for another project and got the bug again. I have prepared a canvas with the outline of a Poppy and I am working through some watercolour 'try-outs' before I commit to the canvas.

This was an ATC for the daily challenge at the Craftymessers FB page.

I quite like messing with the paints again. Great Fun!!!!

Fantasy - Craftymessers Challenge 11- Paint

Hello and welcome to my crafty blog.

todays post is my DT project for the  Craftymessers Challenge Blog and the great theme of PAINT!.

Our theme this fortnite is

PAINT!!

And our sponsor is

http://www.desmetdesigns.co.uk/

We were given some gorjuss images from Desmet Designs and the very talented Marie is offering The Geisha and Beach Hut digis as the prize for one lucky winner !

I chose the Beach Hut as my project item this time as the cute image reminded me of sunny seaside resorts with brightly coloured beach-huts, ice-cream and sand in the sandwiches :)

I haven't painted in a very long time so this is my first 'paint' posting as all of my other efforts are paper and stamps related. Here I have mixed the paper with canvas and acrylic paint.

I printed the huts in three different sizes to create the perspective. The individual huts were paint with watercolours to try to creative the bleached-out or weathered colours you see on huts like these. I prepared the canvas with a couple of layers of Gesso and a third layer was applied thickly to create the waves and beach effect.  I then painted in the sky, sand and water unsing a mixture of blue, white, green and yellow acrylic paint. The huts were adhered with dimensional foam pads to make them stand proud of the  canvas.

The result is a nice little painting that is bright and cheery, well I think so.

I got the bug for painting again, so while I had the paints out I've started on another project, which hopefully I can post here when completed.

Thanks for stopping by to read my blog. Don't forget to leave me a comment, you time and comments are muich appreciated.

Craftymessers - Fantasy

Hello and welcome to my crafty blog.

Today I am posting my second DT card for this month and this is for the 'Fantasy' challenge starting today over at Craftymessers Challenge Blog .  Our sponsors for this challenge is Robyn's Fetish Digital Stamps.

So this Fortnite we are sponsored by

Robyns Fetish

Robyn's Fetish Digital Stamps And More is proud to sponsor this challenge.

Robyn's Fetish Digital Stamps And More, a division of I Did It Creations, was created and is
owned by Robyn Weinrib.  Robyn offers a wonderful variety of digital stamps and digital papers, designed to meet the needs of all digital paper crafting addicts for every occasion.

Robyn's Fetish Digital Stamps And More is happy to award the winner her choice of 5 digital stamps.

My Fantasy card was made using the 'Leprechaun' digital image from Robyn's Fetish Digital Stamps

I printed the digital image onto a piece of white card and used my Towbow Waterbased markers colour the image.  I created the background by stamping the grasses with white embossing powder and setting with a heat tool. I then added colour with ECO waterbased inks in shades of green and red, letting the inks flow into one another for a more blended effect.

I sponged  in some dark purple and dark green to deepen the clours and help the digi image pop out from the background. I drew a black 'cauldron' on white card and coloured with a black Copic marker. The 'gold' was made with a piece of gold cardstock, embossed with small circles and decorated with swirls of Diamond Stickles.

I matted the background onto green patterned paper and then onto a white A5 cardbase. The cut-out digital image was added to the card front using dimensional adhesive pads. To complete the card I adhered the pot of gold just within easy reach of the Leprechaun.

I wish I could catch this little fellow, as a pot of gold always comes in handy :-))

Thanks for stopping by to reaad my blog. You time and comments are always appreciated and don't forget to enter into the challenge for a chance to win those digi images.

Cards Galore - Colour Inspiration

Hello and welcome to my crafty blog.

Today I am posting my DT card for the Picture Inspiration challenge starting today over at the  Cards Galore Challenge Blog .

And this months prize is................Wellington Goodies!!!!

And this months theme is:

'Colour Inspiration'

Use these four colours to make your project, plus you can pick one of the following to add too...White, gold or silver.

Here is my DT card for the challenge.

I love the rich jewel colours and I worked through a couple of cards before I got one I felt was close enough to the colour range chosen. I also opted for white as the additional colour to help push the colours out.

I started with a white 15x15 cardbase, folded as a tent-fold card and sponged the centre of the cardbase with a deep pink ink, making sure to leave some area dark and others light. The canopy of hearts was die-cut from deep lilac card with a strip torn away from the bottom to allow the lighter core colour of the card to ad a little contrast. This layer was adhered to the cardbase so that the punched-out heart-shaped leaves let the inked area show through. I then die cute a tree from lighter lilac card and adhered  it to the lilac layer to complete the tree. I slotted the satin ribbon under the card topper and added the sentiment to the base of the card. To finish I used some of the little hearts for a fallen leaves effect and some glitter flower sitck-ons for a bit of bling!

Hope you like my card and thanks for stopping by to read my blog. Your time and comments are always welcome. Don't forget to enter into the challenge with us for yourchance to win the Wellington Goodies.
