Craftymessers Challenge - Animal with a blue colours theme (no insects)

Hello and welcome to my crafty blog.

Today I am posting a couple of DT cards for the new challenge starting to day over at  Craftymess Challange Blog .  Our theme for this fortnight is Animal(s) with a blue colour scheme and this was chosen by our teamie at Craftymess  Gemma .We are being sponsored for this challenge by  Crafty-Emblies .

Crafty-emblies

The prize for the lucky winner of the challenge is a voucher for 10 pounds to spend in the wonderful Crafty-Emblies on-line store.

So here are my DT contributions for this theme.

It's a PAW TAY!

My first card uses a digital stamp I got from Meljen Designs and I have always had a soft spot for this particular party animal !   The digi images come in a .zip file with two formats - b&w JPG, and transparent PNG. I like the JPG format as I can resize the images to suit what ever size 'canvas' I am using.
I've printed the image onto white card and coloured it with watercolour paints.  I cut the image to fit into a Nellie Snellen eyelet circle die and created the frame. I printed a second image but this time only colouring the hat and balloons. These were then cut out and popped up on dimensional adhesives to make them stand out from the main image. My base card is 5x5 dark blue cardstock with some Stampin' Up backing paper and a blue ribbon matted to it. The card was finished with a printed sentiment cut and adhered to the same blue card stock.

My second card is a bit more sedate.
Again a 5x5" tent-fold card in light blue card stock, with the bottom 3rd of the card embossed with Swiss Dots embossing folder. I cut two sizes of  Spelbinders  Labels 4 and used them as a frame for the bear. The stamped image is a Bumble Bear I got free with a crafts magazine and I have used Copics markers to colour him. The card is completed with three stamped dandilions from   Stamps of Life  embossed in white and a blue pola dot ribbon and bow embellised with a pearl button.

Baby Boy

Birds - Craftymessers Challenge 14

Hi all and welcome to my crafty blog.

today I am posting ( a bit late) my DT card for the current challenge running over at the  Craftymessers Challenge Blog for the next fortnight.

So on to the 14th Challenge on the blog which was chosen by teamie   Moira's and the subject is
Birds.

The DT were given a selection of digi images from our sponsor, who are

Robyn's Fetish Digital Stamps And More is proud to sponsor this challenge.
Robyn's Fetish Digital Stamps And More, a division of I Did It Creations, was created and is
owned by Robyn Weinrib.  Robyn offers a wonderful variety of digital stamps and digital papers, designed to meet the needs of all digital paper crafting addicts for every occasion.
Robyn's Fetish Digital Stamps And More is happy to award the winner her choice of 5 digital stamps.

My card is a standard 5x5 basecard in white with a smaller square of lilac card matted to the front. I coloured my image with watercolours and adhered the finished image to a square of pink card that had been decorated with some lilac organza ribbon and pink check Washi Tape. Some Pink and Green gems and a Pink flower were added as embellishments and some green and pink check backing-paper was added for contrast. The senitment was stamped in Stäz-On black ink and I hand drew the 'notes' with a fine black marker.

Anything Goes - ATC and Card with Attitude

Hi all and welcome to my crafty spot.

Here is my second post for today, an ATC made for the Craftymessers Daily Challenge on Facebook and it fits the 'Anything Goes' criteria for the  ATCs and Cards with Attitude  challenge currently running on their challenge blog.

Surf's Up! is the title.

My ATC was made with a Kraft cardbase with the top covered with a torn piece of Stampin'Up blue paper. The torn edge represents the surf. I stamped two surf boards in paper from Funky Hand and layered them onto the ATC. I stamped a pair of flip-flops from some Paperpmania paper and decorated them with a pink gem on each flop-flop. To finish the card I stamped 'Surf's Up' in the top right-hand corner and rubbed the edges with Versa Colour Royal Blue and Brown ink. All stamps used come from Stamps of Life.

I am fairly new to ATCs and I am still learning, but I am happy with this little beach scene on such a small canvas.

Thanks for stopping by to read my blog. Your time and comments are appreciated.

Ribbons and Bows : Stamp-n-Doodle challenge April 26th

Good morning and welcome to my crafty blog!

todays post is my DT project for the new challenge that started  the 26th April over at  Stamp-n-Doodle .  Ribbons and bows is the theme and there are some fine examples from the DT  using  Stamp-n-Doodle  digital images embellished with, of course, Ribbons and Bows.

Stamp-n-Doodle    are offering a digi image of the winner's choice plus a badge for the 1st place winner. The winners of the Top 3 spots get a Stamp-n-Doodle badge to display on their blog.

I chose the digi image of a young girl with her Cell/ Mobile Phone/ Handy (depending on where you live, pick one) waiting for a call.

I've printed the digi image with a  lilac frame from Word and I've used my Tombow waterbased markers to colour the digi image. The image was matted on Purple, Pink  and Lilac cardstock and some faux lines pencilled in with a purple maker.  I added some lace and pink gingham ribbon 'with a bow' to anchor the image to the based of the card and addedthe stamped sentimemt " Call Me!" from Stamps of Life . I used a gold metallic pen to highlight the necklace and bracelet to abring a bit of subtle bling to the finished card.

Thanks for stopping by and reading my blog. Your time and comments are appreciated.

Easter Wishes - The Crafty Pad - #164 Eggtastic!

Hi all you lovely Crafters!

This is my DT card for the challenge starting today at the Crafty Pad Blog.  The theme is Eggtastic and must have eggs, chicken or ducks or anything that makes, creates or comes from an egg!

Sponsor / Prize -    Crafty Sentiments - 3 digi images of winners choice from their shop

For this DT project I've chosen the Craft Pad digi image Roshell and Friend.

Easter Wishes

The digi images can be either outline drawings without colour or as with this one, already coloured.

I like to 'try' to decoupage flat images to see if I can bring out a 3d effect and this is what I did here. I printed the image 4 times and then carefully cut out the Roshell duck, the hand with the basket, and finally the basket. Using one complete image I made cuts in the paper to allow my scalloped circle die to slide up over the paper, leaving the feet clear of the die and then ran it throught my Big Shot. This way I get the scalloped circle cut around the top of the image and the base stays intact.

Using this image as a base, I placed the different pieces of the decoupage in layers until I got the effect I wanted. The photo doesn't show it well and it can take a bit of tweeking, but the result can be worth it.

The card was made from  5x5 inch Kraft card base covered with complimenting DP and some spotted ribbon from my stash.  My flower is a length of yellow gingham ribbon adhered in folds to circle of card and a second layer of fine yellow organza ribbon for contrast. A final backing of white net and some woven straw completes the flower embellishment.

I am entering this card for the following challenges.

Ditzy-Craftymessers - Colouring with Watercolours etc.

"Stamp out a floral stamp onto white card using Stazon, Digi images are acceptable, but more difficult...watch your lines. Then using ONLY watercolour pencils, waterbased pens, acrylic watercolour paints, colour in the image, then mount and make..... card/ATC/scrapbook page/bookmark/fat page etc etc"

These are todays instruction the for Ditzy Crafty-Messers Challenge Blog . I haven't used my watercolour pencils for a while so it was nice to dig them out again for this challenge.

The 'Daisy' has been stamped three times onto a 12 x 12cm piece of white card with the help of a bit of masking. I've used some Faber Castel water-colour pencils to do the colouring and tried to create a bit of light and shadow with the limited colours I had.  The finished image was mounted on the a blue background and then on to a 13 x 13 cm silver cardbase from my stash. The blue ribbon came from some wrapping left-over from christmas. Sentiments and Daisy come from Stamps of Life.

The result is not too bad :)

Thanks for taking the time to stop by.

Get Funky Challenge - At the Seaside!

Here is my entry for the Get Funky Challenge running over the Funky Hand blog. The theme is 'At the Seaside' and the only requirement is that at least one of the Funky Hand products is used as part of the design. If you don't have any Funky Hand papers there is a Freebie to use as part of your entry. Not bad!

I made the card using light brown cardstock base and creating a shoreline and background for surfboards using backing paper from the 'Funky One' cd, Bright Blue paper selection. The torn edge of the blue paper is supposed to represent the tide :-)

The surfboards were stamped onto paper from the Orange paper selection from the same cd. The surfboards were then cut out and placed with dimensional adhesive pads to add depth. The 'Sun' was stamped directly onto the blue 'Sky' and the centre is a circle punched out from some orange cardstock. Some flip-flops and a spade were added for detail. All the stamps, including the sentiments are from Stephanie Barnard's Summer4Fun stamp set.

I hope you like today's post and don't forget to leave a comment. I look forward to reading them.
